There's no Cloud. It's just other people's computers.

A lot of people have heard the term "Cloud Computing", but most of them have no idea what this means. Or even why it's called like that.

We could have a talk to explain the basic principles of virtualization, hypervisor, isolations, VMs, etc.

We could use the analogy of a factory (as a Computer), with multiple lines of production (CPUs), and different storage rooms (Memory), run by a single manager (Operating System).

Then to explain "Virtualization" to them, we can say that the manager decided to put some parapets between the different lines of production, in order to build stuff for different companies.

This analogy can really be extended to explain most of the benefits of virtualization, and the issues that existed before. I've used it a number of times to explain what I was doing, while working on my previous job.
